Leaking Taps.
A leaking tap can waste anywhere between 1500 to 2500 litres of water a month.
There are three main types of taps:
- spindle and jumper valve (tap washer)
- spindle with ceramic disk
- mixers
All three require different methods of repairing. A spindle and jumper valve tap requires changing the tap washer and re-seating the brass seat. A spindle with ceramic disk tap requires replacement of the entire spindle and re-seating of the brass seat. Mixers require changing of cartridges.

Leaking Toilets
One way to tell if your toilet is leaking is by adding a few drops of food colouring to your toilet cistern. Do not flush the toilet for at least an hour and if food colouring shows up in the toilet bowl, you have a leak. That’s when you call 1800-TOILET (864538) to the rescue!
